Ben, Agreed it's much better than what's happened in Beijing, Delhi and so on. But as to the Olympics being "the excuse to fund it" - don't you think it could have been done anyway? Done at much better value than as part of a public-subsidised party for the rich which when it comes down to it is really what the Olympics are?
