  Mount Kariwang-san - Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics

  Pictures of rare trees on Mount Kariwang-san which is to be used for the ski run at the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea. In particular, the giant "Wangsasure," the signature wood species in Mt. Kariwang-san, is to be razed to make way for the downhill ski competitions. The back country of Kangwon Province around Mount Kariwant-san is home to this Aspen variant. It turns out that this mountain, whose main valley is faced with destruction, is the world's largest habitat of these unique trees.

  Also pictures of members of a nature conservancy group, Uiryong People, which is part of Seoul's Good Friends to Nature-Korea NGO, who are campaigning against the destruction of this valuable habitat.
